Basic Fire Safety Awareness
Introduction
This Fire Safety Training Course is designed to raise awareness of fire hazards in the workplace and how to act safely in the event of a fire emergency, providing employees with essential knowledge about fire safety, helping them to understand how to prevent a fire from starting and actions to be taken in an event of firebreak out.
Objectives
Participants attending this LAKESHORE ISL training will gain from:
- Describe the chemistry of fire
- Identify fire hazards in the workplace
- Procedures in the event of a fire
- Duties and responsibilities (of employers, employees and fire wardens)
- Actions to be taken in the event of a fire
- Evacuation procedures
- Select and use of appropriate firefighting equipment
- Fire risk management, including risk assessment
- Fire risk control measures (active and passive)
- Explain provisions for the fire brigade, vehicle access, water supplies and rising fire mains plan and prepare escape routes.
- Explain the duties of Fire Safety Co-ordinators
- Develop procedures and precautions that will reduce the risk of fire in the surrounding.
- Reporting fire safety issues
- Determine which aspects of Legislation apply and to what extent
