FPSO Design and Technology
Introduction
This 5-days training seminar has been designed to provide a better understanding of the complexity of an FPSO. The training will guide the participant through all the phases of the FPSO project from concept design to handover.
The FPSO training seminar will focus on the key design concerns, technical challenges, critical drivers and risks associated with the execution of the FPSO project. It will arm the participant with a wealth of knowledge to help them advance their project.
This training seminar will feature:
- The key components of an FPSO development ranging from hull, topside, turrets, mooring, storage and SURF to offshore loading.
- An explanation of the FPSO process and an outline of systems involved and their particulars
- An overview of applicable rules and regulations, industry standards and regulations and environmental considerations
- Construction, fabrication, load-out, installation and hook-up, commissioning, start-up, and handover
Objectives
By the end of this training seminar, participants will be able to:
- Identify the key design requirements for hull, mooring, swivels and fluid transfers systems and risers
- Recognize the effects of the ocean environment on FPSO design
- Understand main functions of topside process systems, its typical production capabilities and related disciplines
- Interpret applicable rules and regulations, industry standards and regulations and environmental considerations
- Appreciate safety in design and operation
Training Methodology
This training seminar will utilise a variety of proven adult learning techniques to ensure maximum understanding, comprehension and retention of the information presented. The daily workshops will be highly interactive and participative. This involves regular discussion between both delegates and training seminar director. The training will provide the participant with an in-depth knowledge through detailed information, real-life case studies, photos and video animation.
Organizational Impact
For the design and construction of an FPSO, a firm knowledge of the fundamental principles of the various systems is essential. To be capable of handling the numerous project challenges and stay within budget and schedule, it is important to have educated, knowledgeable and well-trained personnel that:
- Understand the entire project from the well to export of the end product
- Is aware of the main selection criteria in regard to equipment operating conditions and safety considerations
- Appreciate the interdisciplinary nature and teamwork required for successful projects
- Understands the rules, regulations and industry standards
- Adopts of the industry best practices
In sending delegates to this training seminar, the organisation will gain the following benefits:
- Develop a technically strong team
- Increase efficiency
- Realise higher performance at lower costs within compliance
- Control the project budget and prevent overruns
Personal Impact
Understanding of the entire project will provide the participants with the tools necessary to find answers and solutions and to make appropriate decisions to progress in present and future projects.
This training seminar will provide a multidisciplinary understanding of:
- Key design considerations of the overall facility
- The impact of rules and regulations on the design of the facility
- The impact of your role in the project
- The importance of interdisciplinary nature and teamwork required to achieve successful projects
- How and why things could go wrong
Who Should Attend?
